Terrafugia have got approval for their plans to build a light aircraft that folds its wings away to become a car on dry land. Anyone can get a license to fly it after just 20 hours flying experience, so it will quickly grow popular as the latest rich mans gadget!
Airborne it will speed along at 115 mph, and will burn around 5 gallons per hour. That works out at a reasonable 23 mpg in the air (and 30 mpg on the road) which is comparable to any premium motor.
Like all good sports cars it is a two-seater to impress the ladies, and it is also priced to sell at just £130,000.
